Many forms and portals accept only a single file, but your documents often arrive as several PDFs: a CV and a cover letter, a stack of receipts, or a document scanned one page at a time. Merging puts them into one tidy file.

Before you merge

  • Name your files clearly, ideally starting with a number (01-cv.pdf, 02-cover-letter.pdf). It makes arranging them much easier.
  • Check each file opens. A damaged PDF will not merge, and it is easier to spot the culprit beforehand.
  • Remove passwords. Password-protected PDFs cannot be combined until they are unlocked in the program that created them.

How to merge PDFs with Felx

  • Open Merge PDF.
  • Select all the files at once, or drag them onto the page. You can add more later.
  • Use the up and down arrows to set the order. The top file becomes the first pages.
  • Select Merge PDF and download the result. The page count is shown so you can confirm nothing is missing.

Pages are copied exactly as they are, so the merged file keeps the original quality, including selectable text. Everything happens in your browser — useful when the documents include personal details.

Only need some pages?

Merging always includes every page of each file. To combine only certain pages, first extract them with Split PDF, then merge the extracted files.

Combining photos with PDFs

If some of your documents are photos (for example a picture of a certificate taken with your phone), convert them first with JPG to PDF and then merge the result with your other PDFs.

Is the merged file too big?

The merged file is roughly the size of all the originals added together. If it is over an upload limit, run it through Compress PDF. Scanned pages usually shrink a lot.

Good habits for merged documents

  • Put the most important document first. Reviewers often look only at the first pages.
  • Keep page orientation consistent where possible; mixed portrait and landscape pages are fine, but rotated scans are hard to read.
  • Give the final file a descriptive name, such as “priya-sharma-application.pdf”, rather than “merged.pdf”.
