How to Merge PDF Files
- Add your PDFs. Select two or more files at once, or drop them onto the box. You can add more files later with Add more files.
- Arrange the order. Use the up and down arrows next to each file. The file at the top becomes the first pages of the merged document. Remove anything you added by mistake.
- Select Merge PDF. Felx copies every page from each file, in order, into one new PDF.
- Download the merged file. The total page count is shown so you can confirm nothing is missing.
Merging is handy for job applications (CV, cover letter and certificates in one file), expense claims with several receipts, or scanned pages saved as separate files.
How does Felx Merge PDF work?
Each PDF page is a self-contained description of what appears on it, along with the fonts and images it uses. To merge files, Felx opens each PDF, copies its pages — together with everything those pages depend on — into a new, empty document, and saves the result.
Because pages are copied rather than redrawn, the merged PDF keeps the original quality: text stays selectable, vector graphics stay sharp and images are not recompressed. Page sizes and orientations are also kept, so an A4 letter and a landscape spreadsheet can sit side by side in the same file.
Some document-level features, such as bookmarks (the outline panel in a PDF reader) and interactive form fields, may not carry over perfectly from every source file. The visible page content always does.
The whole process runs in your browser using the open-source pdf-lib library. Your files are not uploaded to Felx servers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 50 files, with each file up to 100 MB. In practice the limit is your device’s memory, so for very large batches a computer works better than a phone.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly as they are. If the merged file is too large to send, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
Why was one of my files rejected?
Felx shows the reason next to the file. The most common ones are a password-protected PDF, a damaged file, or a file that is not really a PDF (for example a Word document renamed to .pdf).
Can I merge only some pages of a file?
Use Split PDF first to extract the pages you want, then merge the extracted file with the others.
Are my files stored anywhere?
No. Files are read and merged in your browser and are never sent to Felx. Nothing remains after you close or refresh the page.
